Passing By

Tonight the wind came
sweeping down from
the stars to stir
the leaves,

that whispered at first,
mildly surprised,
then all in a rush,
flung themselves

together, dancing wildly,
bowing first one way,
then the other,
on their bendy branches.

Wind can’t stay,
wanderer that it is.
The leaves sighed
and were still.

Oh! I know just what the leaves sounded like and looked like, all dancing together!

I saw the moon on Sunday night...did you? It was beautiful and made it seem like daylight, it was so bright! Next day at work someone mentioned it had been the largest full moon in a long time.
I love your "flung themselves together, dancing wildly!"

Thanks, Marc.

Thanks, Barbara - it was fun trying to capture it in words.

Hilary - thanks :)
