Spring Is Springing

The snow is receding from my patio...

Listen
Nothing says spring louder
than the sound of ice melt,
unless it's the hopeful little two-note song
of the chickadee, that drops like liquid song
into the silence.

Snowdrops bloom in a sheltered spot.

Goodbye winter!

We're feeling it here too, though I couldn't put it so poetically! Love "drops like liquid song into the silence."

Oh I can't wait for the little flowers!

Oh, I love the song of the chickadee. He's here as well, even if we're getting a lot of wet, slushy snow, at the moment.

There are no flowers as yet, but soon...

The finches are back at my feeder, together with the little brown winter birds. Their colors will brighten as the flowers bloom.

Goodbye winter indeed!

Molly - bird song at this time of year is twice as delicious for having been missing all these long, cold months.

TattyT - the first ones are so welcome!

Marion - his little two-note spring song is so delightful

20th CW - thanks for stopping by and commenting :)

I know it's over once again when the crocuses are up, and they are! Good riddance, winter!

a lovely post! spring has arrived with zest and full color in seattle! we have been working in the gardens for 2 weeks. all the bulbs except tulips are in full bloom. we shifted back into rainy, chilled temps this week, but we are heading back out now. i have been singing that little ditty, "welcome, sweet springtime!"

Yeah!! Looks like DC a couple of weeks ago. It's definitely spring here now, though the largest snow mountains are still melting, bit by bit. The sun is shining and it'll be in the 60's today. Ahhhh ....

...and now comes the rain. And even that's okay by me.

sky - the snow is receding like an old man's hairline ;)

We haven't hit the 60s yet, Reya - soon, though, Soon!

Susan - yep, the rains are here, too. March showers bring... April showers

What great photos, we don't have such changes, I wish we had. In autumn the leaves fall off the trees and that's about it, oh and the air is cooler.
I think the extreme differences makes it so much more special.

Hope you are well AM?
