On My Walk Today

The sun was shining, the temperature rose past freezing and on into the 40s, a breeze flickered among the oak leaves and pine needles, setting them dancing, and a chickadee sang its happy little two-note spring song. All thoughts of cottage cleaning fled. Here's what I saw on my walk today.

Oak leaves basking in the February sunshine...

Sunbathing trees...

Geese that stayed all winter on the ice-free pond...

and noontime shadows dancing along the fence.

Tomorrow and the next day will be rainy so the fridge will get cleaned. Meanwhile, I'm full of sunshine and dancing shadows and the call of wild geese.

Today HAS been rather spectacular, hasn't it. Here in Connectictu, too, oddly enough. And your water scene looks a lot like a reservoir near me. Gee. I do love New England. Glad you waited on the fridge-cleaning.

Thank you for your compliment and I am MUCH better indeed.

Oh my goodness. I live in Oregon, where it rains all the time in winter, and my fridge is in terrible shape. I have NO excuse!

What a beautiful walk you had today; I enjoyed every second.

Seeing spring a little here. I have snow still, but not a lot.

jeannette - I['ve found the cleaning chores don't go away as quickly as New England sunshine ;)

Brian - this is one of my favorite times of year - the transitions are always exciting...

kerry - springtime smells so good and though here we can't usually look for it until well into March, this has been an odd winter. I hope we don't have an April blizzard to close the parentheses of the one in October!

OOTP - no snow here to lose! And now rain, but we need the water so I'm not complaining.

Steven - it's a view I see daily :) The mountain on the right is one I climb every summer to pick the wild blueberries that grow on scraggly bushes at the very top.

Dancing Shadows could be a character in a story.

Ahh...so nice to see spring like weather. I love the photos of early spring and can't wait for the same thing to happen here.

So glad the cleaning of the cottage waited until the weather wasn't as good. Good for the spirit, mind, body and soul to get out in Nature and ground! xx
