In the midst of worry...

...six little things I'm happy about.

1. the sun rising into a porcelain blue sky, its rays reflecting off the feathers of a hundred winging geese

2. a mug of hot, sweet tea and a warm croissant drizzled with honey

3. a poem by Hafiz that speaks of life as a rowdy and joyful parade

4. being absolutely sure that I am loved

5. a vase of small, pink roses that survived the frost

6. waking this morning still able to see and hear and walk and smile

What wonderful things to list. Worry cannot breathe in such a lovely atmosphere.

I've been reading a lot of Thich Nhat Hanh lately. You must have too. You are living in the moment, which is all we really have. Hoping that tick causes no problems....

gratefulness is so overlooked and then, when shared as it is here, so reminding of the place in which we hold the simplest and most hopeful intimacies. steven

Mine, too Brian M.

Thanks Tabor - that's what I'm hoping.

Molly - daughter is on massive doses of antibiotics to prevent Lyme or at least minimize its symptoms.

Steven - you are one of the most grateful people I know!

Thanks for the visit Charissa. Glad love is coming your way :)

Our forbears used to talk about the need to "count your blessings." Somehow our culture has gotten away from that, but it really DOES help to think occasionally about the things we're grateful for!

Steve - it's how I put myself to sleep every night and I try to make it part of every day, too. It makes for a happier life. Thanks for stopping by.

We so often take #6 for granted.. and sometimes even #4. Here's hoping that your lovely list (#@ is making me hungry!) helps keep your worry at bay.

Amen!

The basic of living and loving and appreciating, what more could we need to anchor us.
